The story…
One question. Two storytellers. Three chairs. Who is the third chair for…? Who is missing?
23 Words is an exploration of The Wyfe of Bath’s Tale by Chaucer. It seeks to unravel the question, ‘What is it women most want in the world?’. The performance challenges how women are represented, looking at issues from the 14th Century that are still all too relevant today.
“This is a beautifully crafted, uncompromising show that takes a fresh look at a well-known medieval story. Ros and Katy’s use of poetry and stage space, together with razor sharp observation, gives the edge to 40 minutes of excellent contemporary storytelling.”
— Lisa Schneidau.
